History

Many people don’t know that Catholics and Catholic worship have been a part of Monroeville since at least the late 1800s.  Catholic Mass was taking place in private homes at that time, and it was in the early 20th century that a church on Claiborne Street was built and services took place there until 1982 when under the leadership of Fr. Albert Kelly the current church on Whetstone Street, Annunciation Parish, was built.

Serving around 75 families and under the leadership of the current Pastor, Reverend Stephen Hellman, Annunciation holds services of Holy Mass at various times during the week with the main worship service taking place on Sunday mornings.
